A downloadable tool for Windows

Pico Mapper is a Pico8-like TileMap editor for the Windows OS!

It is fully open source on GitHub, and licensed under MIT.

All older releases are available on the GitHub's release page.

The tool is super simple, the only thing it adds over the original Pico8 map editor is the support for layers. The app is still in development, though I am not sure what else to add.

The tool does not have support for importing spritesheets, as the Pico8 does not either.

Every map is saved to a easy to read JSON formatted file (.p8m).

Layers

The concept of Layers is the only original part of the tool. The pink counter located at the bottom right of the screen shows the active layer.

Left clicking moves to the next layer

Right clicking moves to the previous layer

Presseing Ctrl + L will make it so that only the layer that is currently selected will be shown, while others will be hidden.

Quirks

The Select Tool is super broken at the moment and I am unsure on how to fix it.

Credits

I, in no way claim I created the Pico8 OR the design of the tool. All the credit goes to Zep and the Pico8 community!

The tileset used in the first screenshot is from the Jelpi Demo Cart inside the Pico8!
